TTC After a Loss

AW: HCG levels dropping

Sorry, being a PW today. I am going to do something productive after this post, I swear.

Just got a call from my doctor, HCG level was only 77 yesterday! I was surprised it was that low actually, since May 11 was the last day that I was pregnant (how's the for a euphemism?). I hope that's normal. They are checking it again in a week. I assume when it gets below 5 that things will start cycling again and AF will be on its way? At least, I think that's how it works.

Re: AW: HCG levels dropping

  • My levels started at 824 the day we found out we m/c, and a week later 116, and then hoping next week is my last draw. Mine fell really quickly! I am so surprised yours was 77, but as long as they weren't worried, it's something to be happy about IMO! I think mine are probably close to 0 now because bleeding has gone way down from the prior week.

  • It seemed low to me too, but now that I think about it, Harrison had already passed away a week before we found out, so possibly my body did recognize that something was wrong and started ramping down, just hadn't ramped down enough to cause the m/c to start naturally. They did say my fluid was low when we finally found out, and that is probably because he had passed. :-/

I think you're right. :( Sorry you have to keep thinking about it like that. I think it's great you are already getting close to 0. I think after that your cycle should normally show up in 4-6 weeks (that's what my OB said I think - this is my first m/c so I don't know from experience, and also that day was a complete fog to me).
