follistim arrived not cold

Does anyone know if there is a problem using follistim if it arrived not refrigerated? We got the package today and it came with ice packs but they were all thawed and the follistim was actually warm.

I would ask your doctor to be sure.
    3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)

Follistim can be stored up to 30 days at room temperature before using it. So, if you are starting stims in the next few weeks, you are fine. Good luck!

  • You are correct and we already started stims. It says

Store refrigerated, 2?8?C (36?46?F) until dispensed. Upon dispensing, the product may be stored by the patient at 2?8?C (36?46?F) until the expiration date, or at or below 25?C (77?F) for 3 months or until expiration date, whichever occurs first. Protect from light, keep container in carton. Do not freeze

so I think we are ok but will check with re anyway.

  • Here is what I was told: If it was in the fridge and u decided not to put it in there or whatever the circumstances were that it is now unrefrigerated then it is only good for three months. If you put it in the fridge then it is good till the date on the box. I was told once it is left out at room temp then you have three months. I dont think you can put it back after it settles to room temp. I would def call the dr and ask! I am sorry that happened!

  • If it was from a pharmacy (not a donation) can you call the pharmacist? I left my PIO in the car on a warm day and the pharmacist went through all the fine print and recommend I get another vial. Not that that would be the case for yours but best to be safe and check.
