NPR: Chicago ladies - Soldier Field

I am looking at tickets for a concert at Soldier field but can't figure out the best seats.  I've read online that even higher up the seats are good - but it's hard to tell & I've never been there.

Any ladies have recommendations?  Is the 300 level really high up?  Or can you get a pretty good view from there?

TIA!

Just saying Hi to a fellow CHI lady :)  No recommendations for SF seats though!  GL!

Thanks! I'm actually a WI lady...just heading down to Chicago for a concert for DH's birthday this summer.  Smile

  • hi! I am in the city but have only been to the stadium for work stuff, or their easter event for kids. but I can say 300 is pretty high up.  What would be fun is if the Cadillac Club is an option. that is there hospitality suite it comes with a buffet and drinks. even if you don't have stadium seats it is really cool and you are on the 200 level so you can see everything.

  • Have you checked online at how the stage will be set up? If it's where an endzone typically is (which I'm assuming it is) I'd get seats up in the regular seats rather than on the floor. I've been to shows in a few spots there, and being elevated a little was definitely better, IMO.

  • I've never been to SF, but my dad goes w/ work for Bears games and they have 300 level seats and he says he would rather watch it from home on his big screen tv than sit in 300 level. But, that could be just for football. I would imagine a concert may have a bigger stage built? That's my only thought. Maybe shoot for 200 if you can. What concert are ya going to?

  • Thanks Ladies!  That helps!

DH is a country fan, so I'm buying him tickets for Tim McGraw/Kenny Chesney for his 30th birthday.  It'll be a fun night away too, since it's a 2+ hour drive home, so we'll stay in Chicago for the night.

I agree that the 300 level is pretty high up for actually watching the performers, but if you're just going for the experience and to hear the music it's probably fine. 200 level and below is great for actually seeing what's happening on stage.

I'm SO jealous that you're going to that concert. I want to go SO bad, but I'm afraid I might to be too uncomfortable by then to enjoy it.  Crying

Thanks! That's where I am leaning right now - is that we may not be able to see everything and 300 will be good enough.  But that's because I can't find 200 available near the stage & 100 is more than I want to spend.

I'm hoping I won't be too huge by then to enjoy it.  But then, I'm not carrying twins...so that's probably easier for me to say than you!

  • First of all I'm jealous.  I really wanted to go to their concert! If you can get something in the 200 section, do it.  300 is really high and you probably won't get a good view.  Have fun and hopefully it's not too hot/humid for you guys!

  • I don't think the 300 level is that bad for concerts... they have those huge screens everywhere :)
