Any Syracuse Ladies?

My husband is going up there for a job interview tomorrow. It's a really great opportunity for him (patent attorney, he'd be working with GE). It breaks my heart to think of leaving our friends and family so I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the area. Maybe if I knew more about it, it would help.

Re: Any Syracuse Ladies?

  • I grew up south of Syracuse, but now live in KY.

Great people, great college town, great if you like outdoorsy stuff with the Adirondacks, Finger Lakes, and Lake Ontario all close by.

Not great if you don't like winter (lasts from Oct - Apr), snow (130+" annually) or clouds. Syracuse averages over 205 cloudy days per year - it gets old fast. We had snow as late as Mother's Day one year and frosts on July 4.

    Started TTC 05.08
Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH
    DH: perfect
    1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p
    2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!

    1 FET in Aug 2013 = BFP!

  • I live in Syracuse and grew up here. The winters are long, even though we only had 1 snowstorm last year. There is alot of music and cultural events here. Family is what keeps me here. DH really wants to move down south, but seeing as our daughter is only 4 months, I dont see that happening anytime soon.

  • Thanks for the replies ladies. We'll see what happens. As much as I hate summer, half a year of winter doesn't sound ver appealing.
