I am obsessed with Dole Caesar salad kit. I ate it all the time before I became pregnant and when I was at the store they had it on sale, in a moment of weakness I bought it and had a serving. I am confused it says online that most store bought Caesar dressings don't use raw eggs but then some say they do? It says Caesar Vinegrette and on the package it says it uses egg yolks but does not say if it is raw or not?
I feel bad for giving in. It was like a primal hunger situation, and I didn't think about it until after. Now I am wondering if it is okay to eat the rest?
Thanks!!

Agree with this. I think the stuff you might get in a restaurant that's made in-house is more of a concern. I'm sure anything by Dole would be a mostly safe bet.
Ohm nom nom! I could live off their Ceasar Supreme with the special herb sprinkle to put on top!
Store-bought dressing does not have raw eggs. It has to be shelf-stable and then last in your fridge for months.
Homemade caesar dressing does. But even then, the "concern" with raw eggs is hugely overblown. The contamination rate of eggs with salmonella is 1 in 30,000; which comes out to "with average egg consumption, you might come across a contaminated egg once every 42 YEARS".
Honestly, you're probably more likely to get sick from fresh produce than a raw egg.
Any store bought dressing or say fast food dressing is ok. Most do have egg yolk in them but they MUST be pasteurized in order to be sold here in the US. The only thing you have to worry about is the homemade dressings. Those obviously haven't been pasteurized!
Your fine! ;P
