this cycle is a disaster

This cycle really isn't going well at all. I am so frustrated and sad. Today is day 9 of stims. My right ovary is on vacation and not doing much of anything at all. My left is doing ok, but I will be surprised if we get more than 5-6 eggs. I am now on 2x the amount of stims I've ever been on before. I am not sure why my response has tanked this time around. My progesterone unfortunately rose a lot today, which is probably the biggest of my problems, since premature luteinization is associated with lower pg rates (the idea is that the premature rise in progesterone matures the lining out of phase with the stage of development of the embryo).

My understanding from my RE is that this means a fresh transfer is out. In addition, there is now some fluid in my uterus as well as a small echogenic area (thought to perhaps be the last remnants of retained placenta after my operative hysteroscopy). Lastly, my lining has inexplicably become thinner instead of thicker. I don't even know how that is possible (!). 

The plan now is to trigger on Friday for a Sunday retrieval. My RE doesn't think he will get many eggs but wants to cut our losses at this point and not go much further since the rising progesterone is a problem. Also, I saw my hematologist yesterday andthe pathology came back with clots in the twins' placentas so we will now do the clotting tests, but even if I have a clotting disorder I am not a candidate for clexane/lovenox due to my bleeding disorder. I am also feeling a little stressed out about that. I wish this didn't have to be so freaking hard and I know this is just the beginning.

I had a cycle where I had no response at all, after 7 days. My e2 was only 92.  I ended up on max Stims and triggered after 13 days of Stims.  It ended up yielding a good egg count, and we weren't expecting much at all.  

 

Are u thinking of cancelling?  I know I was.  Praying for a good outcome.

Hugs.  I'm so sorry you are having more troubles.  For IVF 4.2, I had the same problem.  One ovary decided to take a vacation and we only got 1 from it and 6 from the other, for a total of 7.  That is the lowest number of eggs I ever had for ER.  I was so disappointed.  However, we got the highest fert rate ever with 6 out of 7 fertilizing.  Unfortunately, they all tanked from there.  However, I wanted to say that you shouldn't give up because many ladies only get a few eggs and end up pregnant.  I just hope your little take home baby is in the bunch and don't give up.  It's not over for you yet.

All I can think is maybe the decision will be made for you whether you wanted to freeze or do a fresh transfer this cycle. Hopefully, even if you only get a handful of eggs, they'll be GREAT ones. Big ((HUGS)) to you both right now xoxo

I am so sorry!!  I can't stand how hard it is, it's just terribly unfair.   

I had the same progesterone problem with my first IVF, we froze the 2 embies we got from it and xferred them later.  They were of better quality than the 2 we got from IVF2, fwiw.
