Cloth Diapering

? for wool users

We have been using upcycled sweaters --> shorties, soakers, longies for nearly a year, but only at home.  We use prefolds under the wool. When we leave the house we typically switch over to a pul cover (thirsties/blueberry/flip), but with summer approaching do like the idea of better air circulation that wool offers. Anyways, do your LO's wear wool away from home?

Re: ? for wool users

  • I've got some really cute wool shorties that my girls have worn away from home, but I occasionally put a PUL cover on underneath the wool.  It defeats the purpose of the breathability of the wool, but solves the leak issues.  I have used fitteds under wool away from home, but don't typically use fitteds for daytime use (usually use prefolds), and prefolds under wool away from home scare me.

  • I don't use wool when out and about.  I worry about compression leaks.

if you have enough absorbancy in your diaper and your wool is good and lanolized you shouldn't have any problems.  now fleece on the other hand is another story and I won't use it out and about

    That's good to know, thanks!
