Natural Birth

One of those rare times when I agree with my MIL

My first two children came on their due date and my lovely doctor is expecting the same for this one. My mother says that a c-section will make things quicker and easier, when I did natural for my other two. My MIL, who is generally always thinking I'm wrong, said do what you think is best for you. I was there with the first two, and I know you don't need a c-section. You're a champ. She hugged me and I decided that these are my children, and I will be in charge of the rest of their lives, starting with the birth. So, my mom was wrong. My MIL had it all right.

  • I'm lost, why would she even suggest a c/s especially after having 2 vaginal deliveries?

  • I gained a little bit more weight this time around, and she said that vaginal makes you even bigger, and that if I do the c/s I can get lipo afterward. My own mother called me fat! :/

I've never heard of a vaginal birth making one larger.  Pregnancy does that :)
  • Thank you! Some moms!

  • Yay MIL! Of course you can do it again!
  • Please elaborate for the class... how does vaginal make you bigger? I would think that slicing across all your abdominal muscles would make your tone harder to recover and therefore make you seem flabbier for longer?

This last pregnancy took a little bigger toll on my weight, during my last two, I gained around 17 lbs., during this one, I gained 34 lbs. My mother wanted me to do c-section because I gained much more than my other two, and didn't like my fit when she saw me that day, and told me to get a c-section to get lipo afterwards.

Kate Hudson gained 70 pounds while she was pregnant with her first child--and she is a tiny lady.  Every time I worry about how much I have gained with this pregnancy I think of that.  Everyone gains a different amount--regardless of how you eat.
