TTC After a Loss

CD 1 question

Is CD1 the first day of AF or the first full day of AF? If AF arrives at 3pm on Mon, is Mon CD1 or Tues?

I always thought it was the day of the beginning of AF and never gave it much thought until I started using the CBE Fertility Monitor.

Re: CD 1 question

  • The first day of full flow. So in the example you gave, CD1 would be Monday.

  • According to my RE if you start red spotting after 5pm then mark it as CD1 because chances are its going to get heavier throughout the evening and night. If its just pink and really not doing anything then you count the next day when it starts getting red and heavy. Thats just what I was told.

Working with the RE the 3:00pm full flow was the rule while I doing cycles of Clomid and Femara, and then when they moved me to injections (gonadotropins) 5:00pm was the cut off time.  Either way it needs to be full flow not just spotting.

Not sure if you want to pick a time for yourself but I think it has to do with what time you would be starting meds.  If it is just for a montoring thing I don't think the time would be as important (I think the time restrictions with the meds and RE were due to office hours).  I would read the instructions and if they don't say anything about it just take the first day you have full flow...no matter if it is in the morning or evening.

    GL!
