Question to IVFers

Did you do any regimen to prepare yourself and husband for IVF like vitamins, acupuncture, yoga?

We're getting ready for IVF in the fall/winter, so not yet, but we're getting ready for it now. I've been doing acupuncture and supplements for over a year, and now DH is starting with my ND as well for treatment. First appointment is next week for him!

Yes, I've been taking Vitamins / Supplements recommended by acupuncturist for about 6 months now.

I'm also doing fertility Yoga.

I think mostly, the acupuncture / yoga have greatly reduced my stress / anxiety.

So, yes to all of the above

Just prenatals - and cutting back on caffeine

I've been taking prenatals for several months in prep for IVF.  I've also cut out caffeine and will stop drinking any alcohol once I start stims again.  I only drink on nights I play softball, and since I'll stop playing too, it'll be easy to give up.

I've ask DH not to drink any alcohol since sperm have a 3 month cycle and we need the best of the best.  He's also been taking supplements for the past several months.

Prenatals since '09.

No caffeine since '11.

Acupuncture since August of last year.

And at the same time started to see a therapist who deals in IF.

The top two are easy.

The bottom two have helped me immensely both stress wise and emotionally.

Thanks for the info ladies! I think I'll start up acupuncture again and maybe try some yoga classes too. I've been doing prenatal vitamins for almost 2yrs now. I have heard a lot about CoQ-10 having egg quality benefits, and my acupuncturist likes me to take wheat grass and spirulina supplements. But that is a good point about DH getting his sperm in good shape 3months in advance. I also need to ween off the coffee and wine soon.

I feel like such a slacker!  I haven't done much except pre-natals.  I'm a runner and that's my form of stress relief, though I understand I might have to become a 'walker' once things get underway.

I do plan to give up caffiene eventually (before starting stims is the goal, but I LOVE coffee!) and will give up wine/alcohol once we get to ER.

I only did supplements and improved diet (organic & horomone free). I tried gluten free but it was hard and i didnt really stick to it. Good luck.
