TTC After a Loss

PSA--Those with FHA loans (NTTCR)

Anyone with an FHA loan may want to look into refinancing.  President Obama is allowing homeowners with FHA loans (before 2009/2010?) to refinance with no closng costs or home appraisal.  I called my mortgage broker.  She said to wait until after June 17th to refinance b/c the mortgage insurance is super high right now.  It will drop after June 17th.

Have a great day!

I hate paying that insurance too!  We have about 2 more years of it before it comes off.

  • Do you know if this is for a refinance into another FHA loan? Or does this allow you to refinance into a convential loan?

I'm not sure, but I'd guess it's to refi into another FHA loan.

Thanks so much for sharing the info.  Much appreciated!

  • We've already re-financed once.  We did it about 6 months after we bought the house, because rates took a nose dive.  We may have to run the numbers again to see what it looks like.

I think what OP is referring to is an FHA streamline re-finance where it is still an FHA loan, but you lock in a lower rate.  It's great for people (like me) who owe more on their home than it is worth and wouldn't qualify for a conventional loan refinance for that reason.  I'm trying to get mine done too.
