DH and I went out to dinner the other night. The restaurant had a fish tank with various saltwater fish, most of which would be recognizable from Finding Nemo.
The family in the booth next to us were discussing Nemo and Dory (clown fish and a blue tang for those who don't know...). The **smart** lady in the group who was from out of town on business to present some sort of educational lecture was asked what sort of fish Dory was, and she replied a bluegill. She then threw in the fact that Nemo was a carp.

DH and I have an unspoken rule about eavesdropping whenever we go out to eat. If the entertainment value of eavesdropping is higher than any conversation we could have on our own, then we shut up for the entire meal and just listen to the wonderful atmosphere surrounding us. Needless to say we didn't talk much at dinner. ![]()
Re: A Finding Nemo story
Sadly, it seemed like she HAD seen the movie. She knew the general storyline but apparently just never picked up on the clown fish thing. I don't remember if it was ever mentioned in the movie that Dory was a tang but she should have at least known that the fish was nothing even close to being a bluegill.
Also, DH observed the lady dipping her sushi into ranch that she had brought from home. Who does that?!
