My 2.5 month old is already 15lbs and 24" long and i'm having a hard time with the Ergo and Mei Tai (this is the mei tai I have: https://www.etsy.com/listing/70945105/mei-tai-baby-carrier-black-and-white).
Everything I've seen on various youtube videos and baby wearing websites says that at this age I should have his legs in a froggy-type position, not sticking out of the sides of the carrier. But whenever I try to do that, he tries to straighten his legs and forces them out of the bottom, which doesn't seem remotely safe or comfortable for him. And I've tried to have his legs straddle my waist, but I think he's still too small and he just doesn't seem comfortable that way at all. And I have an infant insert for the Ergo, but he just fusses when I use that as well...plus it's been kind of hot here, and I think it's just uncomfortable all around for him.
He does pretty well in our Bjorn, but it's murder on my shoulders and back. And he's okay with my Moby wrap and I do leave his legs out on that, but since it's more flexible material he seems pretty comfy and doesn't fuss. But again, it's been pretty warm here and I am sweltering in the Moby and he gets all sweaty, too.
With him being my second (my other son is 3), I was thinking that I'd be doing a LOT more baby wearing, it sure would make life easier, but I just don't think he's digging it yet. Any advice?
Re: BWing advice for big infant
Did you see this post? It may help...https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/65863469.aspx
Also, it is fine for baby's legs to be out at any age as long as the carrier put him in the knees-above-bum seated-like position.
If you like the Moby idea, but not the heat--try a woven wrap.

I'm having a hard time visualizing how he has his legs straddling your waist in the ergo, can you post a pic?
