TTC After a Loss

Wondering....

In the past I have read "drive by post" and people on here were able to call them out on how many times they had actually posted...Well the reminder post this morning  about how to post BFP made me wonder how many time I have actually posted on this board and when my first post started?

Is there a way to look that info up?

  • I have tried a few times to see how many times I have posted but never could figure it out...

I agree DC2London...While I greatly appreciate all the support I have be given on here I would think twice before posting anything I thought would hurt someone else's feelings....I would not want to do anything that hurt all the wonderful ladies that have been there for me since I came on this board.

  • If it helps, when I had my second BFP I only posted it on PAL and many of the TTCAL ladies jumped over to congratulate me. So people that are following you will know. If there is someone specific you are close with that you want to share the news with that you know will not be hurt, you can also always PM.

I'm a newb, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I don't think anyone actually needs to go back and count their posts or count forward three months from their intro before posting a BFP, I think that the 3-6 months thing is a guideline to give people an idea of how long it takes for people to really "know" you and want to celebrate in a BFP with you.  On The Bump boards I always operate under the assumption that if you have to ask if you are a "regular," then you aren't one.

I'm not sure I would ever feel comfortable posting a BFP on this board, no matter how long I had been here.  It just doesn't seem like the appropriate place.  Perhaps I will feel differently about that after a few more months here.  I don't know.  The subject matter on this board brings a lot of sensitive issues with it so, unfortunately, there will always be situations that we aren't sure how to handle, and situations that are mishandled.  The best we can do is try to be respectful and empathetic, and let the tinfoil ladies drive away the trolls or goats.

This. When and if I get my next BFP, I will probably just post on PGAL even though I have been here almost a year. Enough of us lurk there, that if someone wants to find a TTCAL-er who has moved on, they will.
