As far as I'm aware, there is no blood type that causes miscarriage. I'm sorry for your loss, but it was likely due to something other than your blood type.
I understand that you might be confused and frustrated as to why you had a loss. This is completely normal. I suggest you seek some quality, published information on the subject to put your mind at ease (do NOT believe most of the things you see on the Internet). Please read our TTCAL blog as well, it's fabulous!

I am so sorry for your loss. I know that sometimes, women with Rh- blood type needs special treatments during pregnancy but that is not usually until later or after a full term pregnancy. Typically, very early miscarriages are due to a chromosomal abnormality. However, this seems to be something that is weighing heavily on your mind so I echo PP in suggesting a talk with your doctor.
The only relationship between blood type and miscarriage lies in the Rh factor. If the baby produced Rh+ blood (the father would have to have been Rh+), and it came into contact with your blood during loss or during childbirth, then your body can produce antibodies that can cause problems in a subsequent pregnancy. Specifically, the antibodies can cause your body to attack another Rh+ pregnancy. To eliminate this risk, women with Rh- blood types are given the Rhogam shot as soon as possible in the event of a loss or birth. This prevents those antibodies from forming.
So, by itself, A- blood won't cause a m/c, unless you've had a prior untreated m/c. In that case, it's possible and you should consult your OB. You definitely should have been given a Rhogam shot with your most recent loss, and if you weren't you need to contact your OB right away.
ETA: Useless trivia... this is why they no longer require blood tests before issuing a marriage license. The advent of the Rhogam shot made it safer for a Rh- wife and a Rh+ husband to procreate, so there is no point. This is also why OBs run your blood type with your initial visit.
All of this. I'm Rh-, and had to get Rhogam during both of my losses, within 48 hours of bleeding.

The short answer is no. At 5 weeks, you do not share a blood supply with LO, and if this was your first loss, then you probably don't have the antibodies against Rh + blood anyways.
Your body will only cause damage to a baby if the baby is Rh +, and if your body has the antibody against Rh + blood. Also, you need to be sharing a blood supply in order for your body to recognize the baby's Rh + blood. If you don't share a blood supply yet, then your body wouldn't recognize it.
But like I said already, most likely you don't even carry the antibodies against Rh + blood if you have never had any other losses or exposure to Rh + blood.

I'm Rh- and for me I just had to get the rhogam shot when I miscarried (both times). And such a pleasant experience because in the middle of all that awfulness what you really want is a shot in the a$$.
If you haven't had the shot, I would f/u with your doctor ASAP.

Same here. I was instructed to go to the ER for a Rhogam shot if is started to miscarry naturally, I ended up with a d&c and was given Rhogam before my discharge.

Thanks you just answered my question. I was given a shot with my first m/c i was a little over 12 weeks. With my 2nd m/c I wasnt given any shoots and I really didnt give it any thought until I read this post and remembered they had given me a shoot. That whole day was a horrible blur. Glad to hear that I didnt need one the 2nd time around.
