Aiden was born at 30 weeks and has only been able to latch 3 times since he has been home (he came home at 3/30/12). So I am exclusively pumping. When he came home, he was on 45 cc. He now eats about 3 oz (90 cc).
My friends son was born full term when my son was born and he eats 6-8 oz each feed.
How much should he be eating? When should I try to increase the amount?

Sometimes Adalyn will take 1 ounce, other times she will take 2.5 ounces. Overall, she takes between 13.5 to 16.5 ounces total per day. We keep track of how much she eats and let her decide when she wants to eat. It has worked a LOT better for us in regards to her brady spells while she ate. She's been gaining weight. She gets 2 BM (120ml) and 1 Neosure (60ml).
I stopped pumping about a week ago and we've been going through all the breastmilk that I have in our freezers.

A & R were discharged on 80 mL per feeding, they now take anywhere between 3 and 4 oz per bottle, every three hours during the day. They are on 30 cal formula though, so 3 oz is technically like 4 oz...
Our sons are about the same adjusted age and I just asked his pediatrician about this yesterday.
Jack came home taking 47 cc every three hours, but quickly zoomed up to 60 cc (2 oz.) then 75 to 90 cc (about 2 1/2 ounces -- basically one of the skinny Medela collection bottles) per feeding. In the last couple of weeks, we've increased that to three ounces... sometimes he won't finish it, and very occasionally he is still hungry for more so we'll give him one more ounce, or he is hungry again within 1-2 hours.
I asked the pediatrician if we should be feeding him a lot more at this point, and she said we don't want to feed him more than 4 oz. per feeding because his stomach is too small to handle more and he will spit the difference back up.
With the current amount of eating 3-4 ounces every three hours, Jack's growing beautifully and was 7 pounds 13 ounces yesterday... well over an ounce a day of growth since he's been home! So, I don't think our LO's will need to be eating 6-8 oz./feeding until they quite a bit bigger than they are now.
