TTC After a Loss

Charting and Etiquitte Questions

As soon as I am done here, I plan to check out the FF tutorials, but I have never charted before. Wondering if anyone has any pointers or recommendations they wouldn't mind sharing with a new charter. I think I may have ovulated late last week (based on CM) so I have a little while before I have to start. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Also....when one is fortunate to get a BFP, what is the proper etiquette on this board? Does one sneak away quietly in the dark of night to the PgAL board or do you share you joy here, knowing others are not as lucky? I haven't been here long but I haven't seen any BFP announcements, just want to make sure before I (hopefully) find myself in that position.

Thanks ladies!!

Re: Charting and Etiquitte Questions

  • Welcome. Head on over to the TTCAL Blog for answers to your etiquette questions, as well as some really good advice on general TTCAL stuff. My biggest advice for a new charter is to read the FF tutorials and consider reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It's a great book!

  • I'm sorry for your loss. Welcome to the board.

I am, by no means, a charting expert, but I have learned A LOT just from lurking on this board and jumping straight in to charting. I'd suggest setting up an FF account, getting a good BBT (the Mabis one at Walmart comes highly recommended), orderIng some OPK's on Amazon, and just taking it a day at a time. The key to temping is to temp at the same time every morning before you get out of bed. Good luck!

  • So sorry for your loss!  Honestly, sitting down for a good 30 min or more and reading the FF guide and the ttcal link that was posted earlier would be a great start.  Always temp at the same time every day, that makes a big difference on your chart accuracy.  But the FFguide helped me tons!  After reading feel free to ask questions!  There's so much info, it's hard to pinpoint just small helpful hints :) HTH and good luck!

Fair warning, OP. Just in case...

Don't, for the love of Mike, delete this post. It really doesn't go over well here.

But, beyond hating DDs, drivebys, and goats, we really are a friendly bunch.
