I know I've seen this question asked before, but forget what the answer was. When defrosting breastmilk, it has to be used within 24 hours, but when does the clock start? When fully defrosted, or when it is first placed in the fridge? I put some in the fridge last night for today, but ended up not going to work, so it's still there. I checked this afternoon, and there was still a frozen 'column' of milk in the middle, so it wasn't fully defrosted yet. Can I use it tomorrow?
Re: Frozen BM question
All of those time frame are guidelines. With that being said, I though it was from the time it comes out of the freezer, but I could be wrong.
Smell it and/or taste it. You will know if it is bad. I would use it if it passes the smell/taste test.
My LO will not drink any of my frozen milk that has been frozen for longer than about 6 weeks =(
This is what I did too. Sometimes it wasn't even defrosted in 24 hours, so that wouldn't work anyway.
