Invitations (where?)

Just wondering where everyone got their bday invites from. I found one I LOVED on Shutterfly but just made it and put it in the cart just to realize it would cost me $35 and wouldn't be here until over a week from now more than likely and I need it quickly.

Re: Invitations (where?)

  • I ordered mine off of ebay. Someone made a template using the theme I wanted and the wording. She then just emailed me the finished product, which I just downloaded to my computer. I then printed them out at Walgreens. I will try to PIP if I can figure out how.

  • I ordered from Etsy and paid for rush but it will still take a week... A lot of etsy sellers will design an invite for you and send you an image file so you can have it printed at walmart, costco, etc. That would be fast.

  • We did ours through Vistaprint. DH designed it himself, though, so I don't know what premade options are available. And it also took close to a week. We were very happy with the outcome, though, and they were cheaper than our Shutterfly Christmas cards.

etsy.   Found one I liked, paid for it, and the seller sent me a jpeg file that I printed up as 5x7s.    Most esty sellers have quick turnaround on files...24-48 and then you can print them at any 1 hour photo place.

I did the same.  I think I paid $13 for the jpeg and then I had them printed at Staples, though you could do it at home on card stock if you wanted. I also got a thank you card thrown in for free so all I have to do is send her a bday pic after E's party and she'll do a thank you that coordinates with her invite.  Great experience.

  • We got our invitations from TinyPrints. We used them for our birth announcements too. Great quality and quick delivery. :)

  • I feel a little guilty, but we just did e-vites. I used paperlesspost.com, they have a lot of cute cards. Many are free, some you pay for. There is an option to print it out, so I will just have to do that to have a hard copy :)

  • I ordered mine from Etsy - it was $11 for the customized card and was completed within 24 hours (I got to ok the proof first). I printed mine at staples but you can do them on your home computer too. They just send you a file and you can do what you want with it!

  • I found invites on zazzle.com that matched his bedroom set...and I'm a dork who loves matching like that, so I couldn't resist!
  • I got ours on Etsy.  We are doing a Dr. Seuss themed party and I found someone on there who actually sent me a template that I print out myself and it is actually a book, which is adorable.  That was the easiest way, was for me to print it myself.  With that being said I only need 12 invites for the 30 people invited, if I needed more than say 20 I would have probably ordered them from Shutterfly.

  • We got ours on Etsy, Zoo Parade. I love them and the owner sent us the file within 48 hours we just had to go print them out. They are perfect!

  • We had a graphic designer friend make them and then we just printed them on cardstock at home. Do you know anyone like that?  It was free except the paper and ink.

  • DH designed them using Photoshop and then we're going to send them over to Walgreens to have them printed on photo paper. We've done these types of invites in the past and they come out really nice and are inexpensive as well.

  • We did snapfish and in store pick up (which was same day).  I think I spent $30 on 40 invites...  It would have been cheaper to order through the site and have them mailed (because I found a 40% off code), but they weren't even producing photo cards for like a week due to some maintenance and then by the time I got them it would have been too close to send out.

I was going to recommend CVS or Walgreens as well, since they can be done in an hour! We had our Christmas Cards printed that quickly.

March2008 - I had a little trouble finding a totally blank template on the sites, I could only find folding cards or 5x7 which costs more to mail. Did you find a standard size blank template at walgreens?

We are doing dr Seuss too- mind sharing the etsy seller? Love the idea of a book!

He just uploads the file to their website as if it's a regular 4x6 photograph. That's all I know about it b/c he's always handled it. Does that make sense or if you want I can ask him further about it when he gets home from work....
