Taking baths while Pregnant?

I know its bad to raise your body too much while pregnant but i was wondering if it would be ok to take a lukewarm bath for maybe 10 mins tonight since walking around in flip flops then sitting at a computer for 4 hours isnt working for my back?

  • Baths are fine, just don't make it too hot.

  • I take a bath at least every other day.  Just as long as you make sure it's not too hot, you're good :)

  • My doctor told me to keep the bath water at 100 degrees or less...I just stick my regular digital thermometer in the water before get it to check it. I tend to like HOT baths, so like to check it to be sure I don't make it too warm.

  • As long as it's not approaching hot tub temps you're fine!

  • Mine is usually approaching hot tub temps. My body always tells me when it's time to get out. I usually do a hot bath for about 10 minutes and then cool it off and soak. So far none of my kids have come out overcooked. ;-)

  • I take hot baths 2-3 times each week, and I do 90 mins of hot yoga 3-4 times per week.  Some women have babies in Africa, Saudi Arabia, and India.  I think a hot bath here and there will be fine.

I work at a Sports Medicine clinic - we have a therapy pool that is kept between 94 and 96 degrees F.  One of our PTAs is pregnant (about 11 weeks now) and her OB said it was fine for her to continue to see patients in the pool.
