From January through April, DD who is now ten months old, was an excellent night sleeper. She'd usually sleep through the night. Sometimes she'd wake up, but would often go back to sleep on her own or just need her covers put back over her or her bink in her mouth. Last week, she started waking up in the middle of the night/early morning, crying hard (a scream/cry) and sitting up in her crib. We tired letting her cry it out once but this lasted over an hour and she never went back to sleep. (I eventually went in and sat with her; then it was time to get up anyways.) Since that night, I've been feeding her when she wakes up. I DO give her a few minutes to see if she'll fall back asleep on her own. She did this once last night.....otherwise feeding her has immediately calmed her down. She'll then sleep till her normal wake up time AND wake up happy and playful.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is she gearing up for a growth spurt and is this jsut a phase? Or am I creating a night snacker?
Note: she's eating more during the day than she used to as well; loves just about every solid food we give her. I'm only feeding her formula at night too. During the day she takes a 90 minute to 2 hr nap in the morning and an hour nap in the afternoon. She's a good day sleeper and sticks to a decent schuldle for eating in the day time.
Thanks for any advice!
