I've always had TONS of milk but since started working I barely have any left. This week I"m actually starting DD on Formula as well since I'm not producing enough.
Is this the beginning of end or can I still save the situation? I don't get engorged anymore, even overnight I don't leak and by boobs are never hard. In the morning I'll pump 3oz/ea after that (every 4 hrs) I'll barely get 2oz each and that's with pumping dry. I"m drinking the tea but was wondering if I can even do anything about it anymore and/or if you have other tips.
TIA!!
Re: Can I still save it??
I used motherlove more milk plus when I was trying to help my supply. It tasted awful - but it did help a bit. I ended up getting sick and was having to pump and dump for weeks due to the medication I was on - so thats when I threw in the towel as I was spending so much time pumping and not with my little guy (or so it seemed).
The LC told me I could mix the motherlove with a little orange juice to help with the taste. Also, you are not supposed to drink 15 minutes before or 15 minutes after taking the drops to help it become more effective.
Good luck!!
So I'm just trying to understand your pump schedule. Are you pumping enough and for long enough? How long are you away from your baby? I'll give you and example of my schedule:
DS is in daycare from 7am- 6pm. While at work, I try to pump for 15-20 minutes:
8:30am- usually pump 4oz
11:30am- 4 more oz
2:30pm- 4 more oz
6:30pm- I'm back home and I use my manual pump and get about 4 more oz.
I send 16oz to daycare. Sometimes DS finishes it. Other times, I come home with 2 or 3oz and freeze it.
Have you also considered replacing your pump parts? That can affect supply.
Good luck!!
Well I have to admit that I got stressed out at work and a few times I had only pumped once and had like 7 hours inbetween pumping which is horrible!
Now i'm back on track and pump every 4hrs which is my dd's eating schedule. I do have to drink more, too I believe.
So you get 4oz each, or total per pumping??
Thanks for he tips! So it's not too late right?
