How does one do it?
I have yet to venture out alone with the babies to a mall or whatever, but it suddenly occurred to me: I have no idea what to do if I were out with them and had to go to the bathroom. I have a travel system, so would I take the car seats out and bring them in the stall with me, leaving the stroller outside the stall? Taking the diaper bag, my purse and shopping bags in with me? And put the car seats on the dirty public bathroom floor?
It just seems like such a gigantic hassle.. especially since I have IBD and when I have to go, I have to go RIGHT NOW.

I'm a slighly different stage, so I was thinking of something completely different when I opened the thread. (By the way, enjoy diapers as long as possible...taking potty training or trained twins into public restrooms in a completely new adventure! :-)
When DDs were little, I can remember using either the handicapped stall or a family restroom. You get pretty good at realizing where the good restrooms are!

This. And the family restrooms. Like a PP said, you'll discover where the good restrooms are. I can't imagine dealing with the IBD issue though because I realize you might not have time to get to one of the "good" restrooms.
lol. this.
Yes, it's a real pain. It gets really cramped in there, even in the handicapped stalls, especially with little hands reaching out to touch everything...uhh. The DSNG doesn't fit that easily and my Joovy Triple really doesn't fit. I've had to go to the end stall, park the stroller in the doorway as far as it will go, and just leave the door open. The stroller blocks you from view, and no one would really come down that far if a stroller is sticking out! That would be pretty weird.
And like PP stated...I'm so dreading public BRs while PT!
First public outing at one month old in the DSNG in horrendous rain storm to the pediatric surgeon office. I clearly wasn't thinking straight.
I had to use the restroom. DSNG did not fit into the handicap stall, so I peed with the stall door somewhat open and got the stroller in as far as I could. In retrospect, should have removed car seat from far end, folded up the fold-out portion and closed the door. Live and learn. No one saw me - thank goodness.
It gets much, much harder in the toddler stage for sure.
