My husband and I really don't want to go with a "super common" name - we like something different but not totally out there... if that makes sense?
Need some opinions on some names we are considering (last name sounds kinda like Peaches)
For a boy - we are thinking Bruin:
Bruin Patrick Peaches
For a girl we are struggling: (we love Madigan...and she will go by Mads or Madi... which I know is a little more common...but at least she isn't a Madison or Madeline)...but can't seem to find a middle name that sounds good with it...
Madigan Elle Peaches
Madigan Lou Peaches (Madi Lou)
Madigan Reilly Peaches
Madigan Mae Peaches (Madi Mae)
Madigan Raleigh Peaches
What do you think?!?
Re: Need opinions for Baby Names....
I think both names are different and "totally out there". Never heard of either name really...don't care for either for sure.
I don't like Madigan at all. I actually prefer Madeline even though it's more common. I like Lou as a middle name and Mae as a FN or MN.
Perhaps this is because I'm originally from NE, but Bruin reminds me of the hockey team, Boston Bruins. Don't think I like it either.
Bruin is nice, though I do associate it with the NHL. It is not a bad association.
Madigan- is this your maiden name? i have a friend whose maiden name is Madigan and that is her DD's name. I think that name is going to be a hard sell if it's not a family name.
I prefer Elle as a mn.
Big time hockey family - so the NHL association is just fine.
Madigan is not my maiden name...it is actually a name we learned about while honeymooning in Ireland (husband is Irish so having the Irish name kinda fits)
I LOVE Elle. Actually wanted that to be the FN...but Husband isn't sold on it.
We considered Madigan Elle Peaches as well...so maybe that's a good option!
IMO Bruin IS totally out there. It's a bear or a hockey team, not a little boy's name. Also sounds like 'brewin'', as in brewing beer to me. There are plenty of unusual, uncommon names that are still names out there to choose from.
Also, if you want a somewhat uncommon name, don't do Madigan. She might not be Madison or Madeline, but she'll probably still be called Maddie just like all the Madisons and Madelines.
ETA: I'm also a hockey fan, but I'm not about to go and name my kid Red Wing or Leaf or Ranger or whatever. It's weird. So it Madigan- it's an Irish surname, not first name. There are also plenty of great, uncommon Irish first names for girls out there.
I like your name choices, especially because they are not common and you didn't use weird spelling to "make" them unique.
So I love the names! For a girl I like Madigan Lou (Madi Lou-is soo cute)
Ehh...if it were me and my parents named me after a sports team-even one I LOVED-I'd probably dislike it. Then again, Forty Niner isn't a good name by any stretch. Bruin just doesn't strike me as a name.
Madigan is definitely different but I don't dislike it. I agree with PP on Raleigh-it's bad.
