Where is 2nd incision?

A co-worker told me her doctor did her 2nd (RCS) c/s incision above the first. He wouldn't do it in the same incision because he said the scar tissue would be too hard to cut. Is this normal? I thought they always went in on the same incision? My MIL had her 2nd c/s 21 years ago and even then they did the same incision. I've had a couple minor laparoscopic surgeries and they used the same incisions too. I'm wondering if it's just this dr who seems a bit odd anyway. He told her he recommended a RCS because he wouldn't promise he sewed her up well enough the first time to not "tear and bleed to death" with a vbac. I have my 1st physical since the c/s tomorrow and I'm putting this on my concerns list if other drs are doing it too!

Never have heard of that and I'd be worried going to a doctor that said he wasn't sure if he sewed her up well the frist time. weird! anyways, both my c/s and this 3rd were/will be through my incision from the orginial one with ds1

She used the same incision as the first one. Actually I can see that the start point is a smidge higher, but not too noticeable.

I've heard they cut around the scar and basically take it out and make the opening a little bigger. Her doctor is nuts and I don't think I would be going back to him!

My rcs was through the same incision as the first one as well. Her dr sounds ridiculous.

I think that's only if the first scar looked really bad ans they are trying to make it better. they will cut out the old one and hope it heals better the second time.

Really I think it just depends on the doctor. The doc that took my wisdom teeth out (which was just a couple months ago) said that his wife is having her 4th one and they have taken it out every single time and just made a new scar.

All 3 of my incisions have been in the same spot. This one will be as well.

it went through the same incision. It is a bit longer than the 1st one but not that bad. This time it will again go through the same spot.

Thank goodness. Her dr is strange IMO and I sure wouldn't be seeing someone who doubted their own work like that. How could I be expected to trust him? Anyway, my visit today was supposed to be a problem visit since my period was still going but he did my physical and I wasn't prepared with all my questions! I totally forgot to ask about any 2nd baby stuff. Oh well!

The OB cut through my old scar. She actually said I had very little scar tissue.

My second was done right on top of my first.

And I would run like hell from a dr who told me that he didn't think he sewed me up well enough for a VBAC whether I was considering one or not.

My second was done just barely higher than my first. They are really, really close together, but there are two disctinct scars. I just figured that was normal as it would probably not heal as easily if they cut through scar tissue.
