I have strong excel skills and have worked for almost 15 yrs at major corporations doing FP&A - budgeting and forecasting. I would like to cut down my hours and have asked to work 4 days a week, knowing it would probably be shot down as my position is really not set up that way. I have one little one and hope to have another in the next year. At that point, we are thinking I would stay at home and try to find a PT job or consulting work from home. Any suggestions on how I can use my skills? How I could get consulting projects? I've though of basic things I could do at home like taking someone's address list and putting in excel so they could print labels - that would bore me!
Re: Strong Excel/Budgeting Skills - what can I do from home or PT?
Could you keep books for a small business?
I WFH part-time and my DS is in daycare on the days I work. It is hard to find a job that you can do while watching a baby. If you are willing to work nights/weekends, when your DH/SO is home, that's the only way I could see working without child care.
I've thought of that and wonder how I could find something like that...book keeping. I have done it for my dad's business.
I would def have my kids in daycare if I had something with regular hours and if not a babysitter at home. I can't go PT or even 4 days in my current job. We live in NY with a normal suburban commute is over an hour to the city, we're slaves to a train schedule and I am gone almost 12 hrs a day with my little one in daycare 10-11 hrs. and I don't even work the long hours I used to do!!!!
Have the Monday blues and know I need to start investigating how I can do something to spend more time with my little one.
Thank you...i took a peek at both of those websites and def see things I can do!
