I'm hurting so badly. I've been told (by the MWs) that stretching won't help because I'm already too loose in the hips. Chiropractic care is not at all covered by insurance and just an initial visit is REALLY expensive, apparently... Today I can barely walk. I have to take baby steps and go very slowly. I was a slow waddler before, but today it's just excrutiating. I needed DH to help me sit up in bed so that I could get out. Chasing a toddler is pretty much out of the question- all doors are closed in the hopes he doesn't leave the immediate area.
I take back anything I ever said about women wanting babies to come before their due dates... Just because I didn't get to that with DS1 doesn't mean I don't 100% understand now. (I'm 37,6 today).
Re: How on Earth did you manage the last little bit?
I have an E-mail in to the chiropractor... they have strange hours or I'd call.
I had a prenatal massage 2-3 weeks ago and it did NOTHING to help my pain. Which made me sad... but it makes sense. It was nice to relax for a bit, but it wasn't what my body needed to feel better. :-( A nap might have helped more.
I haven't yet. I did let her know how uncomfortable I was and she gave me the name of someone that does prenatal massage, but when I searched for that person, I couldn't find anything about her and prenatal massage, only other kinds of massage, so I went with Heather's rec instead. The pain has just kicked up this bad today. Before it sucked really bad, but I could manage for a bit and then rest for a bit and then do more. Today I'm wincing with every single step. :-/
Just by complaining and living with it I guess. I went to the chiro multiple times and it did not help one bit. ((hugs)). The end is near! I had a few prenatal massages too. I wouldn't really say I felt better afterward. It was nice to relax but it didn't really help the pain.
Try a different chiro or let them know the situation. They may want you as a client more than they want the extra money for the one visit. Also, if you don't need/want XRays, that might get the price down. I've never paid the listed initial visit price.
Also, let's say it is $200 and despite every trick above, you just cannot get the price down. Consider if that price is that worth not being in misery, if there is any way you can swing it. I'd rather not eat out for two months than not be able to walk.

It depends where you're hurting. Is it mostly your hips or pelvic girdle or round ligaments?
Simply wrapping a scarf tightly around your hips can help the pelvic girdle:

Abdominal release helps the round ligaments, as does wearing a belly bra:

Acupressure helps the hips:
