'Hi guys, I am trying to figure out what we need to buy before the baby comes. We are planning to use disposable diapers for the first few weeks before we transition to using cloth diapers. We're building up a stash of one-size cloth diapers of various brands that I'm mostly buying from consignment stores, so we need to wait until the baby is big enough to fit into them. (Right? Please correct me if that's wrong.)
Anyway, with that in mind, what makes sense to do for a diaper pail that we can use with the disposables at first, and then the cloth? Should we get a diaper pail from Babies R Us, as we had figured we would before we decided to go with cloth, or just get a trash can with a good lid that we can use with a cloth liner/wetbag later on when we get to the cloth diapers? I don't really want to get a pricey diaper pail to use for only a little while if it won't work with the cloth later.
Thanks for your help!
Re: Diaper pails/wetbags?
I would just get a garbage can with a lid that you can use a pail liner with.
I'm 99% most cloth diapers are too big for a diaper genie and then you'd have to unwrap them all to put them in the wash anyways.
Ditto this. It will save you a purchase for later on. We did a trash can with sposies in the beginning too. It doesn't smell at all.
