An update from my ovaries and ute (XP from IF)

I went for my 2nd monitoring appointment after 6 days of stims. Here's the line up:

Follies: 13, 12, 10, 10, 9, 9, 6

Lining: 6.9

I told her that I had more follies last time and she said that they are probably just hiding. She said that they're growing appropriately and I have a little ways to go.

Not sure how I feel about this. I was really hoping for a higher total count than on Friday. I guess we'll see what they say when I get my instructions later, but I don't feel like I'll be on track for an ER on Friday...maybe I'm wrong.

3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)
IVF and Natural FET resulted in BFN's and a hole in our wallets
Natural BFP #4 on 9/7/12 gave us our miracle on 5/18/13

    Sounds like a good update if the RE said they are growing appropriately. Sending positive thoughts your way for instructions that help you feel like you are making progress and that everything will be right where it needs to be on Friday!!

    After RPL testing my losses and subsequent infertility are considered unexplained.
    Cycle #22: Femara, TI, and progesterone = BFP!! 
    BFP#3 Dec 21, 2012. Beta #1 @14dpo = 134, progesterone 67.8. Beta #2 @ 17dpo = 664! Team green, EDD 9/1/13, healthy baby boy born 9/12/13!

    Thanks HH.  It wasn't the RE, it was the nurse practitioner.  The RE will review everything and then I will get a call later to with instructions for my meds.

    I can't 'completely understand' but I do understand the anxious feeling of waiting to see if the fertility meds you've been taking produce the end result that you want.  ::HUGS::  I hope you will be surprised and they get a bunch of eggs at your ER!

    Sounds good!  I was a slow stimmer as well. Slow and steady wins the race!  Fx for you!!

    4/28/11 IUI#1 = BFP!(5/25), EDD 2/2/12 - m/c 5w3d

    IVF#2 take two 10/2015 - 5 blasts frozen
    FET#4 12/11/2015 - BFN - 4 blasts remaining
    FET#5 2/18/16 - BFP!!!  Beta1-3, 126, 250, 745!!

    TTC since 4/28/07
    Diagnosed w/ endometriosis 12/2010 Laproscopic surgery & 6 months of Lupron
    BFP 12/17/2011,EDD 8/23/12,ectopic discovered 12/29/11 at 6 weeks recieved methotrexate
    Dec '12 HSG & ultrasound showed abnormalities & more endo. Laproscopic surgery in January '13 showed significant damage & scar tissue from Endo. IVF is our best shot to concieve our rainbow.

    June '13 Decided to go the adoption route!

    They don't all stay around and my RE said the ones that disappear tend to do it before they reach 8-10mm. He told me once they get past that point they tend to mature and the ones the disappear weren't going to develop an egg anyway. I had 10 mature follies and only 7 had eggs in them and I had a total of 4 that disappeared before I triggered so only half of my follies truly made eggs.

    It is more about quality than quantity and lower numbers (under 15 follies) is where my RE likes to be because the chances of OHSS are lowered with a lower count. So, IMO, I think this looks good but this is the school of thought I did my cycle on. I think most people want a ton so they have a better chance of frosties but he also said there is no correlation between number and quality so you could have 25 eggs and none can make it to freeze or you can have 8 eggs and they are all great quality. Maybe he said this just to make me feel better since I had no chance of frosties.

    I know this is hard and it is such a crap shoot it is impossible to ever feel confident about it. I think your numbers look good and you are still avoiding that dominant follie which can lead to a disaster - that is something to be proud of!!

    IF Dx: Endo, hetero MTHFR mutation, poor morphology
    #1 IUI: 1/18/12 = BFN
    #1 IVF/ICSI 4/2/12 = 2 x 7-cell and 1 x 5-cell transferred (3dt) = BFP!!
    H was born at 41w2d on 12/29/12 - be still my heart!
    #2 IVF/ICSI 1/19/14 = 2 x 8 cells transferred (3dt) = BFP!! EDD 10/09/14
    M&W born at 37 weeks on 9/18/14 - I am the momma of 3 boys!!!

    4legs...I can't even express how grateful I am for you stopping by and calming my nerves. You've put a smile on my face and renewed my confidence. I truly don't know how I could make it through this without you and our TTCAL IVF pack.

    Your numbers sound right around where they were for me by day 6 of stimming. My ER only got pushed back by 1 day because my RE wanted to give the follies an extra day to grow. They were able to retrieve 11 from me - 9 of which fertilized! Remember - quality over quantity! I think you're doing great so far. I hope your E2 levels are where they need to be.     It was a rough road, but Arlo Daniel was born April 1, 2013—and our second rainbow is due October 12, 2014.

    I'm another where this is all Greek to me, but I love what 4legs is saying about quanity over quality. I know that perfect egg is just growing in there to be your most perfect baby. Everything I have is crossed for you!!!

    Thank you all for the well wishes and sorry for the IVF mumbo jumbo.

    Lauren...thats comforting that you were at the same spot at the same time.  I'm definitely not looking for 20 eggs, but I was hoping for around 12.  I'm putting faith in my body and my doctor to get me through this.  Only a few more days!
