I had a C-section with my first because she flipped to breach sometime between my 39 week appt. on Friday and when my water broke on Sunday morning. The doc on call from my practice said my fluid was too low at that point to attempt a version but I was an excellent choice for a VBAC if I so chose later. At my yearly appt. in October, my doc said I was an excellent choice for a Vbac bc of my 'roomy pelvis' lol so it seems as if the practice is very supportive of vbacs (there are 3 docs in the practice). So here I am ttc #2 and hoping for a successful vbac! I was very lucky in that the hospital I delivered at for #1 (and will for #2) is very into mother/baby bonding, kangaroo care, etc. and so I had #1 with me immediately and breastfed as soon as I was in recovery but I'm really hoping for a Vbac. TYIA for any and all advice!
Re: ttc #2
It sounds like you've got the most important piece covered - a supportive MD. You probably just want to ask how long they'll let you go and if they'll give you any pitocin. My practice seemed supportive, untill I asked those two questions. The answer was basically that I have to show up at the hospital with the baby falling out sometime before 40 weeks. HA!
Good luck TTC!
