I feel like going on a book buying binge and am looking for ideas. We have almost every Bearenstain Bears book (my mom saved mine when I was little), the Pooh books and a few others. I like longer books - not really the Sandra Boynton books at all. Anyway, I thought this would be a good start! Thanks.
Re: Favorite book to read LO?
I like to read DD "Someday," "The Monster at the End of the Book," and "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom."
The youth librarian who does DD's storytime recommends providing lots of board books with no real story at this age. She said the biggest thing they need to be doing is flipping the pages themselves and getting that muscle work in. Any books with storylines that you would read to them should be purchased as non-board books, because they're ones the kids should read in a few years. She said she sees too many parents buy storyline books as board books for durability, but the older kids refuse to read them because they're "baby books." Just her 2 cents!

BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
I love books that rhyme and DS attention span is pretty short right now, so we usually go for small board books. There are a whole line of these finger puppet books that he loves... we have the lion and the dog.

It's one of the few books he'll choose over a toy. He also loves books with actual pictures of people (not drawings), like this: https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Faces-DK-Publishing/dp/0789436507/ref=pd_sim_b_6
