Naming my son was so easy--my grandfather + my husbands father = son's name.
We don't have as many good female names to pick from though (my grandmothers and aunts were Wilhelmina, Edna, Vera, and Esther--not going to inflict any of those on a little girl!). However my beloved Great Aunt Edna's middle name was Caroline, so we're set on using that as our middle name, but now we're left to the baby name books for the first name.
Anyone have any good suggestions for a first name with Caroline as the mn?
I like Molly--we have a lot of Marys in the family--but my husband isn't sold.
Others I like:
Penelope (Penny) Not sure it goes with Caroline though
Sadie
Dahlia
Scarlet
Annabel (The E.A. Poe poem is my favorite of all time.)
My husband likes Melissa, and Marissa, both of which I hate (and we have a good friend names Melissa, which would be weird).
Suggestions? How do you go about this when your options are limitless? I like classic, but not overused.
Thanks!
Re: First name for Caroline middle name?
Love Caroline
What about a variation of Mary?
Mariella Caroline
Marcia Caroline
Mariam Caroline
Marietta Caroline
If DH likes Marissa and Melissa what about...
Meredith Caroline
Alyssa Caroline
Elisa Caroline
If you like double names I think Mary-Caroline is sweet but would likely go to Mary Kate so not sure how you feel about that.
My first thought for Caroline (before looking at your picks) was Alexis Caroline or Samantha Caroline - not sure why.

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! I love Caroline as a middle name, but for me it's too long for a first name because I don't like any of the NNs--Caro or Carol.
I do love Molly Caroline. Maybe I just need to work harder on DH on that one. But you guys put out some good ideas too. Thanks!
Annabel is beautiful. Annabel Caroline sounds great.
My parents almost named me Molly and I am glad they didn't (I'm an Emily, which I love.) I always thought Molly was too cutesy and mousy at the same time.
