Prometrium question

Hello I was put on prometrium 200mgs twice a day for 16 days.

I have been experiencing major bloating, almost like a knot in my upper stomach.

Its very uncomfortable and I have contacted my dr. He said to stop taking the pills

If I feel that bloated . I also have hot flashes and headaches , mood swings, anxiety and trouble sleeping.

Has anyone else had these symptoms!?!?!? Is there an alternative medication

After a iui to go on than prometrium ? I was going to ask my doctor but I forgot

I just want to hear experiences from real women.

I seem to be the poster child for "if this is a side effect you will get it"

 

So, yes, those are all really normal textbook side effects to prometrium, especially if you are taking them orally. 

 After an IUI, if you have issues with your progeesterone, you are typically put on a supplement of some sort.

 

So, pretty much, get used to it. I find that taking the pills before I go to sleep and then super super early in the morning before I really need to be awake help me to process them and avoid most side effects.

Yeah I know I need to get used to it but wow this is uncomfortable 

My dr put me on the pills to prevent miscarriage but I am in the two week waiting period, so I don't even know if I am yet.

There are a few ways to get the extra progesterone: oral pills, vag supps & shots (typically in oil or PIO).  If you are taking it orally, maybe the vaginal supps would be an option.  That way you are putting the meds where they are needed & avoiding your digestive system.

GL in the 2ww!  S/Es for hormones suck.

I do the suppositories during the 2ww and they make me crazy. I am super super irritable and generally in a horrible mood the entire time. The day I come off them, I feel back to normal (except for being upset over another BFN). I also get hot flashes at night and exceptionally vivid dreams.
