I am hoping to get a few tips on helping my kiddo's to entertain themselves/self sooth so I can get a few minutes of peace here and there....
I am having a hard time getting things done when I am home alone. My kids want my attention constantly. I love that they love me and think I am that cool=) but I wish it would not send my 2 youngest (almost 7 months, 6 months adjusted) into a frenzy. My 2 year old is pretty good at playing independently for a while, then wants to cuddle etc. and I feel bad that he has to wait a lot for my full attention. We have all of the baby gear and toys to entertain (my neighbor came over and joked that it looked like I ran a day care) yet it really does not make the babies happy for longer than 2 or 3 minutes. As I am actually sitting here typing this my DD is screaming her head off that I am not engaging her in some way. I stop, turn to talk to her and she smiles and is happy, turn back around she is MAD. DS is now chiming in with his super loud pterodactyl screaches that sounds like someone is poking him with sharp objects.....OY.
Anyhow, how do you encourage your little ones to be a bit independent. I understand they are babies, don't get me wrong, I just wish that they could play in the exersaucer for even 10 minutes so I could use the restroom by myself. I have tried letting them cry a bit, but my kids are puker's when they get upset, so this is really not a huge option.
Thanks for any and all suggestions!
