Encouragement, please!

I really want to go to the gym today and need some encouragement.  I haven't gone for a month!  I had company for two weeks, and we went to Holland for ten days.  After they left I was super busy at work and out of town on the weekends for work, plus a quick trip to the States and I just returned on Monday evening.

I feel pretty good and I am still active (I biked 105 miles in five days in Holland) and walkt o work, but lately I haven't had the energy to go to the gym.  It is finally not raining and I really want to go!  I just got new materntiy workout pants, which makes everything feel so much better too!

I'd apprecaite some encouragement to hold me accountable!  Thanks, ladies!

Go rock your new maternity pants and hit the gym!

  • Go with the mindset that you will only go for 20 minutes.  Once you are there you will stay.

What I've been doing is 15-20 minute Prenatal Workouts at home in the morning and then hitting the gym in the afternoon for 15-20 minutes.  This way I get 30-40 minutes each day and if I dont do my afternoon workout I know I got at least 15-20

  • You know that you'll feel so much better for going, and if you're anything like me, you'll kick yourself afterwards for not going if you don't.

Just think of the wonderful benefits for baby (stronger heart) and for you - exercising during the 1st and 2nd trimester has been shown in some women to cut down on the pushing phase of L&D by up to half.

    You can do it!!

  • I tell ya what? If I have to go, YOU have to go. Deal? lol I've been trying to go 4-5 times a week, but only have been walking.... its usually 2 miles each day. So c'mon, just get it done! :o)

I did have an electric bike that helped.  LOL!  We did a bike and barge tour across Holland during tulip season.  it was fantastic.  Although not what I expected to do at 18 weeks pregnant, but it was great.

And apparently, I was not their first pregnant customer.

I slacked yesterday...so gym it is for me today too. Like PP said, if we go, you can do it too!

Now put on those new workout pants and have fun!!

  • I got up at 5 am to go to 5:30 am CrossFit today.

If I can get my pregnant, tired azz out of bed when it's still dark out and the bed is all snuggly, you can surely go now in the middle of the day.

I'm actually five hours ahead of you, so it willbe 6:00 p.m. for me by the time I leave work, walk home, change and walk to the gym.  Two miles before I even arrive :-)

  • Think about how awesome you'll feel after you work out.  That usually gets me out the door :)

WHAT?!?  I never knew!  Shoot!  I usually work out 5 days a week, but this past week was a struggle.  This helps ME!

As for the OP... YOU CAN DO IT!   You know you're gonna feel better!!!

  • Made it.  It was only 25 minutes because half way through I was starving.  I did walk 1.5 miles home from work and 15 minutes to and from the gym too.  And I feel better good.  Hopefully this will get me back into my routine!
