I finally did it...

I scheduled my WTF.  I have a phone appt. next Wed.  I have no idea what to ask. When my RE called to give me the news regarding my CP he did say that I most likely had a chromosomally abnormal embryo.  I guess that is the easiest answer, but I do wonder if there are other factors I'm not getting knocked up.

What do you Ladies think?  What should I ask?  I have had some immunological testing, such as NK cells.  Should I request more testing? Should I request RI consult?  I'm not sure if there are any RI in Utah.

Maybe it's time I move onto donor egg.

Just wanted to say and I hope you get some answers.  I remember being in that spot of OE vs DE and wondering what other options are there.  But as you know I don't have age on my side and as we talked about in Vegas, my chances with DE are just overall better even with a perfect cycle with my OE.

Anyway, big hugs and I am thinking about you.  Hope you get some answers or at least further testing to help you make a decision on how to move forward.

    xoxo

I am AMA and all tests on H came back normal
3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles
Last fresh hail mary DE cycle starting Feb 2013
    PAIF/SAIF always welcome
  • Ugh, I hear ya!  I was dreading my WTF last Friday (which, as I expected, was a bit of a downer and didn't lead to any major game changers for next time).  I really hope you are able to get some answers -- and that you'll have some additional info to help guide your decisions on next steps.  Thinking of you!  (((hugs)))

  • Big hugs hun! If you are going to try to cycle with your OE again, maybe ask if he recommends PGD if he thinks there are chromosome issues.  The only thing is that you could be left with nothing to transfer, so it is a risk.  I think that worms gave a good recommendation as well.  Take your time making any decisions moving forward with DE.  It will always be there for you as an option when/if you need it.  I think it is a good start that you are weighing your options! GL!

I have considered staggered IVF with PGD.  I guess we will have to see what my Re says, and what we can work out financially.

  • I don't have any advice, I haven't scheduled my WTF ... mainly because I think it will mark the official end of my TTC... so I totally understand your dreading it and not knowing what to ask, etc.  I am thinking of you though and sending good thoughts!  Please keep us posted.
