TTC after 35

FSH higher after injectable cycles?

My first cycle before doing the injectables my FSH was 7 at baseline, my 2nd cycle it was 15 but that was on cd7 of my cycle, this past baseline it was 15 as well on cd3. Prior to doing these cycles my FSH was always below 10.

I would imagine after 2 months of injecting FSH hormones and overstimming your ovaries your FSH might get elevated as a result, but I can't find a conclusive answer to this.  My RE hasn't mentioned my FSH results at all, which leads me to believe this is probably normal. Does anyone know if this is true?

  • I am concerned about this too. I tried searching for information about FSH level after clomid and femara (never did an IUI with injectables though I might in the future if my husband's SA ever gets better). I think I found some hints that there could be an effect, but I don't remember.

  • Well big duh for me, I totally just remembered that the RN in my injectables class said that couples often get a bfp during a break between stimulated cycles because the extra FSH tends to stick around and have an effect for a while. If I had to draw an unscientific conclusion I think that means your FSH will be elevated but eventually return to what it was previously.

Woohoo!  Back to charting and OPK's this month.  Gotta take advantage of whatever extra FSH is in my system.
