Last night, I woke up to have a bug in my ear

Last night, around 4am, I was sleeping when I heard a buzzing in my ear. Like, not just next to my ear but inside my ear canal. It took me a second but I literally jumped out of bed, swatting at my ear, and ran for the bathroom to grab the ear wax removal acid crap. As I was swatting, I did feel something fly out, so the Murine was just an additional precaution. DH also found a mosquito flying around the room, which he then proceeded to kill. 

Let's just say that I had a difficult time falling back to sleep after that.

If you ever get one that won't come out, shine a flashlight in your ear and it will come out. That is the safest way to get a bug out.

A few years ago I had something similar happen, it still makes my skin crawl to think about it. I woke up to a sharp pain inside my ear and a really loud noise coming from within my ear. I woke up H to see if he could see anything, he couldn't, but I was convinced that there was a bug in there crawling around. It hurt very badly, so after a little while I asked him to take me to the ER because I needed to have whatever it was removed. We got about halfway there and out crawled an ant. So gross. I still can't believe how much that hurt.

Oh god. uck. Far worse than my bug. Now my ear hurts again. 

One of the guys at work was telling us how there was a baseball player that had a moth fly into his ear while playing and another story where a cockroach found its way into someone's ear. 

I want to gag now. Uckyuckyuck.

I work in a pediatric operating room and you would die if you saw the things we take out of kids' ears. Let me just say, there have been plenty of LIVE bugs. And not little ones. Big, disgusting ones.
