update on doc. appointment

Totally frustrated!  Went in today for our appointment to see if we could start to ttc again.  I'm down 20 pounds since the last time I was there (Feb) and my blood pressure is pretty good... much lower than last time.  However, since the doctor wants me to meet with the high risk doc before we get pregnant again we can't try this cycle!  If she knew I had an appointment coming up and that she wanted me to meet with the high risk doc, why didn't she have me do it last week or something??  Oh, and the appointment started with the nurse asking me if I had only had the one pregnancy.  I said yes.  She then asked how many children I had.  I said none.  She looked at me funny and I then proceeded to tell her what had happened to us.  Why isn't there some kind of protocol to prevent this from happening???  It seems outrageous!  End rant.

And that nurse is completely and utterly stupid. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what happened.

I'm sorry.   I know how hard one extra month can be when you're ready to start trying.  The good news is your weight and b/p are down, so hopefully the high risk dr. will have no reason to tell you to wait.  ((hugs))

Yay for lowering your blood pressure and losing weight!! Way to go lrichmond!!

However, I give your doc a for not thinking ahead and a HUGE for being such a wretch. I'm so sorry you had to go through that :-(

My intake apthis few wks ago was similar to this, started with the nurse asking how many pregnancies, how many children, what happened, etc. Um... My son was born & died in THIS hospital. Why can't she just look at my chart?
