My LOs are about 18.5 months apart. I had an emergency c/s with DS, and a scheduled repeat c/s with DD. Recovery with DD was so much faster and easier. For example, I could get out of bed on my own after coming home from the hospital - I couldn't do that after coming home from the hospital with DS. Being well-rested and not having to go through 19 hours of labor, including 3 hours of pushing, made a huge difference between the two c/s experiences.
My recovery was hellish, not going to lie! However, it was for reasons totally unrelated to closely spaced pregnancies (whatever medication they gave me during the surgery made me puke uncontrollably and the zofran didnt help at all, this caused my stomach to be 200 times more sore, I got a spinal headache because the douchebag anestesiologist botched my spinal, I had BP issues PP so I had to stay an extra day in the hospital).
I had my girls 11 months apart, both were c/s. Recovery second time was great. The pain was not even that bad compared to the first. I had to go under the first time, second time I had a spinal. I was up walking to the nicu as soon as I could feel my legs. After the first c/s I didn't even want to move.
My boys are 15 months apart adn I'm about to have my 3rd c/s - Ds2 and this Ds will be 20 1/2 months apart. My first recovery was easy and the 2nd was even easier. I was on my own with both boys by 1 1/2wks pp and was pretty much doing everything like normal. I did stay in the hospital the full 72 hours unlike with ds1 where I only stayed 48 hours after my c/s.
My recovery has been easy! I've been doing waaay more than I should around the house, though. My bleeding has taken a little bit longer to slow down because of my activity levels, but the incision itself and my pain levels are fine. I'm only taking extra strength advil and tylenol twice a day now.
When picking up my son, I just take it really slow and lift with my legs not my arms/torso and I don't hold him for long (just to put him in his highchair/crib/change table/car seat).
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

My recovery this time around was so much easier than my recovery between my first 2. My first 2 were 2.5 years apart and DD2 and DS are 20 months apart
My LOs are 19 months apart to the day. This recovery has been easier because I recruited lots of help from family and friends this time. I also have realistic expectations for what I can and cannot do. I am not pushing myself as hard as I did with DD. I also, do not have stairs-- hallelujah!
The hardest part for me has been not picking up DD. I am at risk for a hernia due to the way my stomach muscles separated. The PT was very adamant that I not life DD until at least two weeks out. The guilt is killing me...the pain, not so much.

Mine r 14 months apart. My first csection recoverhy was terrible & long bc I tried to deliver baby but it didnt work so my body had to recover from being in labor for 19 hrs, then csection. My 2nd was a planned csection & recovery was 100% better! I was up & in my own clothes in hospital on 2nd day. I felt great.
My c/s were about 20 months apart and the recovery was about the same both times. I honestly can't remember if one was better than the other as far as the overall length of recovery time. In the hospital, my immediate recovery from the second c/s was easier/faster, simply because the second c/s was planned and didn't follow 12 hours of tiring labor like my first c/s.
One thing that was different was the amount of time the doctor and hospital told me not to drive. With my first c/s they said I could drive when it was comfortable for me to get in/out of the car without pain (it was around a week). With my second c/s, they said 2 weeks, period.
Recovery was way easier for me the 2nd time around, I think largely due to the fact that my first was a vertical incision, and this one was horizontal. I even left the hospital a day early because I missed DS1 so much. It was hard not being able to lift DS1 for a while, and I definitely cheated on that one a bit. Things have been going great, and I really bounced back quicker this time.
