Trouble TTC

Cetrotide QUESTION!!! Need feedback ASAP!!!

So I left my cetrotide out of the fridge to let it get to room temp prior to my injection, however, I completely FORGOT about it!!  It's been sitting our for about 10 hours...does anyone know if it's still good?  I took another that I had, when I remembered but I don't want to waste this one.  I put it back in the fridge for now, but if anyone knows if it's still good or bad, PLEASE HELP!

Re: Cetrotide QUESTION!!! Need feedback ASAP!!!

  • I know that many medications are fine for even a few days without refrigeration, but I'm not sure about cetrotide. And a Google search isn't helping much. I did find something where it said that unmixed, it can be out of the fridge indefinitely and once mixed, should be refrigerated. For a lot of meds, refrigeration just helps the shelf life. Some of the ladies told me with this because I posted that I lost power and was concerned about my Follistim.

I would call the pharmacy on the label. Or your RE's office.

  • It's fine. No worries!

ETA: as long as you didn't mix it. I didn't think to ask if you did. If you mixed it, I wouldn't use it unless a pharmacist gives you the ok.

  • I would call and check before using it. Usually once it is in the fridge it needs to remain in the fridge but some medications have a shorter shelf life out of the fridge. It is probably fine but I would call the RE to make sure! GL!

  • Thanks everyone, I did not use it yet, I just left the box out.  It should still be fine, called the RE and her nurse told me that if it's not mixed (meaning, I put the solution in the vial) then it should be ok as long as I didn't have it out for more than 36 hours.  Good deal!  Thank you for the responses!
