TTC After a Loss

Q for those on progesterone supps

So I started supps last week, but it was kind of a last minute thing, so I didn't get a lot of info about them...

Are they absorbed into your bloodstream, or directly to your lady plumbing parts?  Is it supposed to be inserted far enough to get to a certain part (for instance, the cervix)? I'm not sure how that all works.  I ask because this morning when I used one, I fumbled it and it came out so I had to re-insert it.  Then I checked manually to make sure it was in correctly, but I could still feel it so I pushed it up a little further.  I'm a little concerned that it's not getting where it needs to be and I'm not getting the full effects.

  • Directly to lady parts, as long as you followed the directions it should be ok

  • I have the 200mg pills, I push it up until it goes a little the the right or left of my cervix.

  • so pills, not crinone?  Like PP says, directly to your lady parts.  You will see little to no evidence you are on prog supps if you get b/w done.  I just went in as far as I could go.  Good luck!

    Just keep swimming.
  • I only did mine at night. I have short fingers so I can never reach my cervix, so I just did what I could, then immediately laid down before it had a chance to fall out.

See, this is what's worrying me...my P4 is suuuuuper low (4.3), and they've only got me doing 50 mg 2x/day.  I'm afraid that's not near enough to make such a huge difference.

This is exactly my problem.  I have the little plunger/applicator thing, but I'm never confident that its going exactly where it needs to.  The pharmacist told me to lay down and elevate my legs for 30 minutes after insertion though, so I've been doing that.

  • I read that they only take about half an hour to dissolve and as long as it doesn't actually fall out during that time you should be fine. I take them too and can never get them as high up as I feel they should be, but have never had one dislodge or anything.  I'm sorry you're going through this right now, I've totally been there too.
