Cleaning crib mattress

The crib mattress we have was my niece's. It was barely used. My mom said I need to wipe it down with water & a little bit of bleach. Is this right? Or do I just vacuum it? TIA!

    Most crib mattresses are covered in a waterproof material.  I think wiping it down with some bleach water or using a disinfectant such as Lysol should suffice.  You could vacuum it but that wouldn't kill any germs.
