Discharge Question

I just started having reddish brown (mainly brown) discharge, some time within the last hour. It's more than what I'd call spotting, but not an enormous amount. Basically what I'd have on that first day when my period was just starting. I am trying to find out if this is normal, because I haven't had any red, pink, or brown discharge at all in many months. I did have an internal yesterday, and my midwife said I could possibly have a little bit of reddish or pinkish discharge, but that it was not as likely because I wasn't dilated at all. This discharge is definitely darker than what I expected and a little bit more than what I expected. And it's not mucous-like. 

Just wondering if any of you had brownish discharge after an internal, or just in general.

It's probably from the internal. Could be your "bloody show", but you won't know until back ache or contractions start.

I had that exact thing after my internal last week.  She was even super gentle.  I think our cervixes are just getting more and more sensitive the lower the baby gets.
