Margaret Felicity was born first at 10:13am - 18.5 inches, 6 pounds 10 ounces!
Henry Alexander was born one minute later - 20.5 inches, 7 pounds 2 ounces.
No wonder Jen was uncomfortable all month - 14 pounds of baby on a 5'2" frame. She's my absolute hero.
The C-section went really well. Our anesthesiologist in particular was wonderful and so comforting and helpful to Jen. They wouldn't allow our doula in surgery or recovery, but she joined us in the room once we were settled and helped Jen nurse successfully right away and helped me with them. The babies are very cute, of course The pediatrician visited this morning and said they are the picture of health.
I think I got maybe 90 minutes of sleep last night and Jen probably about the same. I thought there would be lots of getting up and being up but that they'd sleep for an hour or two here or there. Not so much. Henry is pretty stoic but Meg is, for the most part, not hearing it on the basinette - she wants to be on the boob or being held. And that's OK - just tiring Anyway, we have a lot of "figuring out" to do, but my mom is being very helpful, and Jen's recovery is going as expected. And we have two healthy beautiful babies!
I'm headed back to the hospital, and I'll have to figure out pictures later, but just wanted to say hi and tell you everything went great.
Re: Meg and Henry are here!

"Things separate from their stories have no meaning. They are only shapes. Of a certain size and color. A certain weight. When their meaning has become lost to us they no longer have even a name. The story on the other hand can never be lost from its place in the world for it is that place.” ― Cormac McCarthy, The Crossing
