C-sections

The chills and shakes were not from the Meds - I have an infection! :(

Update on me:

Last Monday I went to the ER due to an abcess rupturing on the outside of my csection. Turns out I have an infection and have been taking antibiotics and have had to have a nurse come to my home to treat my csection wound, it is opened up about 4 cm.  She says I am healing, but who knows how long it will take. :(

I am trying to stay positive, mentally I am feeling better - I just want to get better so I can be more active with my son. Thank God for my husband, he has been awesome.

Wish you all well in your recovery!! We just gotta be patient in time!

  • So sorry to hear this! I hope you are feeling better soon! I felt very anxious to get back to my "normal" after my c-section also, I had a very rough surgery and recovery and it took me about 3 -6 month's to feel more like myself. I hope it is a lot sooner for you! Take care of yourself.

  • oh no!!  Well atleast you caught it and got treatment!!  I understand the feeling and impatience!

1 wk PP I went to the ER with severe pain and nausea, after 10 hrs and being transferred to a bigger ER, they found an internal abcsess the size of a small banana, and an internal infection.  I had to go in the hospital for 5 days to be on IV antibiotics.  I couldn't stand being there and I just wanted to get back home, luckily DH was helpful and it ended up being fine.  Just take it easy and in no time you will be back to normal.  Take care of yourself and let other help you with LO, you'll be back to normal in no time!

  • I'm on the same boat. It's taken such a toll on me emotionally and physically.  This is my 4th week with the nurses cleaning, packing, and changing my dressing.  It is still draining. :/ but it is getting better. I have  two holes at 1 cm.

    Hang in there!

  • Good to see I am not alone...it is comforting!

Thank  you all for your well wishes! **hugs**

Cupcake Mama, I am on week 2 and I have one hole that was 6 cm and now 4cm.  It is for sure taking a toll emotionally and physically, we will make it through right? It feels good to look down at my little man's face and it makes me feel better for sure. I cannot wait to be more active with him and be done with this wound care crap!

We will make it! I look forward to hearing you progress mama!

Im on week 6 I believe.  It's been very difficult. Still getting it packed/dressed daily. 2 weeks ago I developed a rash in that whole area of my belly and inner thighs. I blame it on the tape! Any moisture makes it itch and burn. So i have gauze everywhere! The drainage has been less and less.  I was happy yesterday to hear that the holes were less than 1cm each. I can't wait to get my body back and take a nice normal shower!
