Babies: 9 - 12 Months

10 months and no interest in a bottle... enough formula intake?

How many bottles a day are your LO's getting? DS will be 10 months old next week and he wants food all the time. Currently he only takes a bottle with his afternoon nap and then at bedtime. He still wakes for at least one (sometimes 2) bottles through the night and shows no signs of giving those up. I'm just worried he's not taking in enough formula. With two bottles overnight he's getting around 28 oz in a 24 hour period.

  • At 9 months ( and still now) DD was / is taking around 20 to 24 ounces.  She's on High Calorie formula so our pedi is not concerned.  But when I asked for the amount she should be taking (I thought this was low) he wouldn't really give me an answer.  However, she takes all her formula during the day.  I would try and get your LO to take all bottles during the day.

  • My ped. recommends at least 24 oz a day but if they're only drinking 16, that's ok too.  They might have their off days too.
