Our little man will be 10 months old in a few days. Since around 8 months he's insisted on feeding himself and dropped our homemade purees quickly. For the most part he'll only eat things he can feed himself. I'm searching for some quick and easy recipes for meals and snacks that are age appropriate. I'm a part-time stay at home Mommy but our schedule is rather hectic these days so the quicker the better, but I'm open to anything.
Re: What do you feed your big eater??
Our favorites right now are beans, peas and pasta. I have beans frozen in ice cube trays and just microwave for like 30 seconds. I also make a few days worth of pasta - right now I've been making small shells, she can pick them up and feed herself and I don't need to cut them up. And I keep lots of frozen veggies in the freezer - peas, green beans, carrots, chopped broccoli, etc. I either throw some in the water while cooking pasta or microwave them.
Right now her favorites are:
Blueberries, peas, pierogies, pancakes, hamburgers, french toast.
I am not a huge meal eater myself--i like a lot of little things--I try to give a variety to her during the day--but I have absolutely no problem if her dinner is 1/2 cup of cooked peas and a 1/2 of blueberries. (plus formula!)
Ironically, she isn't a fan of pasta--but loves pirogues. I still haven't figured that one out.
DS's favorite meal right now is grilled cheese and peas. But, he loves everything, for the most part. He's a big eater and just eats pretty much whatever we are eating.
He loves bagels with cream cheese, scrambled eggs, toast, lasagna, hot dogs (just tried these for the first time yesterday and ate the whole thing!), tomatoes, all fruit, bread, pasta, meat of all kinds, etc.
He still eats some purees, but mostly table food.
Could you give me a recipe for these meatballs?
I have a few recipes reviewed in my blog ( link in sig)
