one of my friends from high school came over today because she is in town--we see each other maybe once a year. so she comes in and the first thing she did (after waking him up) was take DSs pacifier out of his mouth saying he didn't need it and how bad it was for him. 

he was pretty good about it and didn't fuss too much. she fed him and played with him for a little while. then he started getting fussy. she said 'this is a fussy baby? no it's not.' and continued to bounce him around until he spit up all over her designer jacket. (good baby)

I told her he was tired and she kept saying he wanted to play. I finally took him from her arms, stuck the paci in his mouth and he was dozing in 20 seconds flat because he had only slept for 10 minutes before she woke him.

She came and pulled his paci out AGAIN! he started wailing! I got him back to sleep and kicked her out. people can be so fukcing stupid.

Why do people think they have the right to do whatever they want with other people's children??  Do you know I had some weird lady (I didn't even know her!) come up to DS in the mall and take his paci out of his mouth to see his face?  She almost left with a black eye....

You have to love it when strangers get in your baby's face being loud and then get shocked or offended when the baby starts crying! Then they say "somebody needs a nap." No, somebody has a personal space bubble and you just popped it!

I understand. We have not really been out of the house yet but I was with a friend a someone came and pulled her dd's paci out of her mouth and threw it on the floor. She then told both of us the baby can die. My friend asked if she had kids and she said no. but she heard from someone it was really bad for the baby. Some people!

I'm pissed at DH and his MIL and SIL right now. Two different issues but it boils down to the same thing - they have all three said stuff that implies they know better than I do how to take care of my child. DH just can't take anything I say as fact and always has to research it for himself and it chaps my a-- so bad. His sister just thinks she knows everything (it runs in the family) but what's even better about her "advice" is that she doesn't have kids herself. MIL just overreacts and doesn't remember what it was like to be a FTM with everyone giving opinions you didn't ask for. I have been alternating between mad and crying for 4 days because I'm sick of them all trying to parent my child. I think I'm a damn good mom and I want to just tell them all to f--- off right now.

I would except I told DH I would let him handle his family. I actually get along with them pretty well so I don't want to say anything that would damage my relationships with them, although because of all of this crap, I do feel differently toward them. I don't think they know how upset I am because I have not spoken to them directly and DH said he has not told them how angry I am. Probably just as well. I'm sure it will come up at some point (or there will be another similar situation in the future) where I will have to say something and I can only hope when that time comes, I can keep cool enough to do it in a nice way.
