Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Formula / Feeding Question

I posted this on my month board, too, but please help if you're a formula mama.

B just turned 10 months old last Sunday, and I'm trying to figure out his feeding schedule for the next few months. He currently has 4 to 5 bottles a day, ranging from 2oz to 8oz, and we do 3 of those bottles directly before meals in the high chair.  (Our doctor said until 1 year, do the bottle first - that's where the most important nutrients come from; after 1 year, offer it after the high chair, so he fills up during the meal and with a sippy.  I think that makes sense.).

I'm happy we're on the 'meal plan' with his bottles, but I'm super confused about where to go now that we're there.  He usually gets bottle (sometimes) /breakfast, bottle/lunch, bottle, bottle/dinner, then bottle at bedtime.  We do snacks in there, too!

I guess my question is...what schedule am I aiming for over the next month or so before he turns 1?  Then what should he do after turning 1?  Sometimes he doesn't want the bottle at all before breakfast, he just wants his cereal/oatmeal, fruit, and yogurt.  If he only takes the bottle half the time with breakfast, and only takes 2oz the other times...should I just not offer it?  He won't take formula in a sippy cup - he will drink water or Gatorade (we had to discover that when he was sick last time!) out of the sippy, but turns into a demon child if it is formula.  I just think it is weird that he would be going from bedtime bottle, all the way to a lunchtime bottle the next day.

If your baby is formula fed, and eats 3 meals a day...what does your schedule look like?  What are your plans as the big birthday approaches?  Please help, because my hubby and I are clueless here!
